About

This site is a guide to running an Eagle board event, usually monthly, where a district holds Eagle Scout service project proposal reviews and Eagle Scout boards of review for its troops, crews, and ships. It is written for district advancement committees: the district advancement chair, who is responsible for the event, and the volunteers who chair and sit on its boards.

The procedures described here are the ones Etowah District of the Northeast Georgia Council, Scouting America, uses. They appear as examples, not rules. Your council and district will have their own service center, sign-up system, and paperwork habits. What stays the same from place to place is the national policy in the Guide to Advancement, which this site quotes word for word. When this site and the Guide disagree, the Guide wins.

The scheduler software was developed for Etowah District’s board events and is free under the Apache 2.0 license.
